What Happened to Jade Teta?
Jun 19, 2026If you knew me from the metabolism world — the workouts, the hormone programs, "mind, muscle, and metabolism" — and you've wondered where I went, here's the honest answer: I didn't disappear. I went deeper.
This is the story of that change, told straight.
The psychology was always there. I finally led with it.
Here's what most people missed: the psychology was in my work from the very beginning. It was mind, muscle, and metabolism — the mind came first in that phrase for a reason. I just didn't lead with it. For years, metabolism was out front and the deeper work sat quietly in the background.
But I kept hitting the same wall. No matter how good my information was, no matter how hard we worked the habits and the workouts, it didn't hold. People changed for a while, then slid back. Over time it became impossible to ignore: the problem was almost never the plan. It was the person underneath the plan.
So I kept moving the most important part forward — from metabolism, to mindset, to the thing underneath mindset: identity, the story a person carries about who they are. The work was always mine. I finally just started leading with it. And when I did, I saw changes I hadn't seen in twenty years of doing it the old way. If you want the full picture of that work, start with what is identity coaching.
I've been remade more than once
My life hasn't been one collapse. It's been a series of them, in stages, over many years — and each one made me more honest.
The first and one of the deepest came twelve years ago, when my marriage to Jill ended. She is one of the great teachers of my life, and we are best friends to this day. I tell that whole story in my book You Grow Me. That ending taught me what I now teach: growth asks you to become more honest, more humble, and more yourself — even when it costs you.
Then, years later, the work collapsed too
This is something I teach now, because I lived it: when you start to change your identity, the old version of you has to come apart to make room for the new one. It's rarely gentle.
Much more recently, that came for my career. I'd spent years in a corner of the health and fitness industry built on high-pressure, hard-sell marketing that never fit me, and I'd quietly wanted out for a long time. Then the world got loud. Watching what happened around COVID, I saw a field I loved become more interested in picking a side than in quietly doing good medicine for the person in front of it. The disillusionment I'd been pushing down finally surfaced.
Then a perfect storm hit my work and my businesses at once. It was painful. But I no longer believe it was an accident. That old professional life was collapsing because I'd already outgrown it.
I rebuilt
So I went back to school. I started a PhD in transpersonal psychology — the study of consciousness and human transformation — and wove it together with everything I already knew about the body. The biology and the belief. The metabolism and the meaning. The work I've come to call quantum metabolism.
Out of all of it, Next Level Human was born. Not a rebrand. A rebuilding — and finally, a chance to lead with the work that had always mattered most to me.
What I do now
Today I help people change at the level of identity, and I get to watch things I honestly didn't think were possible back when I only worked on bodies.
I've seen people lose forty pounds without changing their diet at all — just by changing the story they believed about themselves. I've watched people whose chronic, supposedly permanent conditions shift in ways that are hard to explain. One of them, Naomi Han, shared her story on my podcast, in her own words.
I've never been happier with my work, or more sure it's the work I was meant to do.
About those old workouts
A lot of the businesses tied to my old programs eventually went under. When the dust settled, I made a decision: I gave the workouts away. All of them, free. If you came here looking for my metabolism and training work, it now lives at no charge on my Metabolic Human YouTube channel.
I'm not hiding the past. I'm just no longer selling it. It was a real part of my journey — now it's a gift.
What Next Level Human really is
If you want to know what happened to me, here it is: I'm a flawed human who kept growing. Who got more honest, more humble, a little older, a little wiser. Over the years I've collapsed in every way that matters — health, wealth, and love — each in its own season, and every one of them remade me in the best possible way.
I don't believe everything happens for a reason. But I believe things happen, and then you make a reason. I made mine. Now I get to help other people do the same: find their way back to their essence and become who they actually are.
That's what Next Level Human is. That's what happened to Jade Teta.
