Here at Next Level Human, we call them MUD (misguided unconscious decisions).  They are misguided because we formed these stories when we did not have the know-how, wisdom, maturity, or tools to make sense of and deal with what happened to us.  They are unconscious because they follow us around, influencing our lives silently without us being aware.  They are decisions because whether we are aware they exist or not, we did at some point in our past choose to see things this way.

This is what the Revolution event is all about. It so powerfully changes people because it goes to the source of the issue.
